Here at Vitalize, we are excited to be able to offer female patients an innovative new treatment called Votiva, to improve vaginal symptoms and help restore quality of life and boost confidence.
After childbirth or the menopause, many women suffer with embarrassing or upsetting symptoms relating to laxity of the pelvic floor, vaginal tissues, or vulva.
These may include:
-reduced sexual pleasure
-vaginal dryness or
-incontinence of urine.
Up until now, the only options for women suffering with these kinds of symptoms have been physiotherapy, medication (to help control the bladder muscle function) and surgery.
Votiva is a safe and comfortable treatment which uses Radiofrequency energy to gently improve blood flow, tone and tighten the vagina, pelvic floor and vulva, without the need for invasive surgery and all the risks and possible complications this can incur.
Ideally and for best long-term outcomes, treatment should be used in combination with Kegels (pelvic floor exercises). It may be used in conjunction with hormonal treatments, such as HRT, although is also considered a safe and effective alternative for those women for whom hormones are unsuitable.
Time to treat: This safe, comfortable and straightforward treatment requires no downtime, and can be completed in as little as 30-45 minutes in the clinic.
Results: Results can sometimes be seen and felt immediately after treatment, and the benefits of increased collagen and elastin production by the body continue in the weeks and months afterwards.
Downtime: No downtime, Patients are able to resume normal activities immediately after the procedure, and sexual intercourse after a few days. After treatment, there may be some mild swelling or tenderness in the area, lasting only a few days.
Votiva uses FormaV, a radiofrequency device, which passes through the vaginal canal and causes the tissues to tighten and contract. Treatment also stimulates the body’s own production of collagen and elastin, helping to improve tone and elasticity and to plump the tissue.
Votiva can help to treat:
- Decreased vaginal and vulval sensitivity
- Decreased levels of sexual desire and satisfaction
- Vagina looseness
- Weak vagina muscles
